Coach Pyatt believes his athletes must know the importance of giving back to the community with teamwork and volunteering. One activity we set up this year is for the young men to read to one of the 2nd and 3rd grade classes at various A-West feeder elementary schools. During these visits, the football players talked with the kids about healthy bodies and healthy minds, read 3 books to them, and gave out Wildcat stickers. At the end of each visit, the kids had a Q&A session with the boys. The discussion is lively and fun. This experience taught the 2nd and 3rd graders about living healthy lives and it taught the football boys that volunteering is a valuable and fulfilling experience.
