Boys Junior Varsity Baseball, Boys Varsity Baseball · Baseball: Summer Information

Wildcat baseball will be offering 2 summer teams this season that will both be playing 16 league games and 4 tournaments.  We are also having a PBR (Prep Baseball Report) scout league team. This will be made up of potential varsity players and will play every Tuesday with an end of the season tournament. The breakdown for each team is below.  Tryouts for the summer will be scheduled for Wednesday May 16th at 4:00 on the Arvada West baseball field.

  • A-West Purple – this team will be for potential varsity and JV players.  They will have 16 league games played as doubleheaders every Tuesday, and one Saturday, in the Colorado Baseball League (CBL).  There are currently 4 Tuesdays scheduled at Arvada West and then 3 Tuesdays at opposing fields, the furthest field begin Mountain Range and DSST on a Saturday.  This begins on May 29. They will also be playing in 4 tournaments at the 17U level. The dates for these tournaments are May 31-June 3, June 14-June 17, June 28-July 1 and July 19-July 22.  Locations of these tournaments are not yet available. The fee for this team will be between $700 and $750 depending on the number of players that are on the team.

  • A-West White – this team will be for current freshman and incoming freshman players.  They will have 16 league games played as double headers every Tuesday, and one double header on a Sunday, in the Colorado Baseball League (CBL).  There are currently 4 doubleheaders scheduled at Arvada West and 4 doubleheaders at opposing fields, the furthest field being Prairie View. This begins on May 29.  They will also be playing in 4 tournaments at the 15U level. The dates for these tournaments are May 31-June 3, June 28-July 1, July 5-July 8, and July 19-July 22. Locations of these tournaments are not yet available.  The fee for this team will be between $700 and $750 depending on the number of players that are on the team.

  • PBR Scout league Team – this team will be for potential varsity players next spring.  They will play 8 games that will be 9 innings. The PBR Colorado Summer Scout League is designed to give players an all-inclusive package that will meet participants’ recruiting, game-development, skill-development, and exposure needs. This is not just a league where a ball is rolled out and meaningless innings are played. Yes, there are games, but high-level competition is just a small part of this program. The package includes 9 inning games to be played at local Colorado college fields which includes Metropolitan State, Regis, Colorado School of Mines, and University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. All games will be scouted by the PBR Colorado Staff, and players will have multiple times to get their profiles updated on the PBR Colorado website which is subscribed to over 850 colleges. This is a great opportunity to be seen in front of state colleges in the area.  This league begins May 29 and ends July 17 with the end of season tournament being July 19-22. Games are either 10:00 or 2:00. In order to have this team, we will need 12-15+ committed players who can be there each Tuesday for our game. There is a $150 fee that needs to be collected that will go to PBR and is separate from the team fee. The teams are responsible for renting the fields ($300/game), paying for umpires ($80-$85/umpire/game) and then providing game balls. Depending on the number of players, the team fee would range from $160 – $110.

I will have the complete summer schedule with dates and locations on a google calendar and shared with you.  Tournament times and locations will be provided to us before the tournament starts.
