Multiple Teams · SB: Wildcat seniors “College Signing Day”


Wildcats Softball is proud to announce that 3 key members of the varsity softball team have signed National Letter of Intents to continue their softball careers at the college level next fall! Delaney Fletcher, Sara Mitchell and Brittany Phillips were each recognized in a ceremony today by the athletic department at Arvada West. These young women played a huge role in the recent success of the Wildcat Softball team, including 4 straight appearances to post season play and two trips to the state tournament. The coaches would like to extend our deepest congrats and best wishes to these ladies as they pursue their dreams of playing college softball! You will always be part of our Wildcat softball family and will be missed next year for sure!

IMG_9962Centerfielder & team captain, Delaney Fletcher, will be attending Otero Junior College in La Junta, CO. Fletcher, a 3-year starter for the Cats, was a 2nd Team Jeffco “All Coference” selection in 2016 and finished with a .381 batting average while also making some huge defensive plays for the team in the outfield for Arvada West!

IMG_9964Shortstop & team captain, Sara Mitchell, is heading to 2016 NJCAA National Champion- Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas. Mitchell, a 3-year starter for the Cats, finished her senior year with a .394 average and a team leading 28 hits. She was also a 1st Team Jeffco “All Conference” selection as well as a 2nd Team 5A CHSAA All State selection as a senior.

IMG_1475First baseman, Brittany Phillips, will be attending Adams State University in Alamosa, CO. Phillips was a 4-year starter for Arvada West, and finished the 2016 season with a .391 batting average, a team leading 17 RBI and 3 home runs. Phillips was also a 1st Team Jeffco “All Conference” selection her senior year.

IMG_9958The athletic department also recognized senior, Ava Kopperschlager, who will continue her softball career at Williston State College in Williston, North Dakota.
