Multiple Teams · Softball: Cats beat Pomona 11-2 on Senior Day! Undefeated at home!

The Wildcats celebrated their 4 seniors today by beating Jeffco rival Pomona, 11-2 in their final home game of the season! The victory made the Cats 6-0 in their home contests this season! Seniors Delaney Fletcher, Sara Mitchell, Brittany Phillips and Haleigh Rodela were honored before the game, as it was their final home contest at Arvada West.

seniorday-familiesThe Cats jumped out to an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning on a Sara Mitchell RBI single, followed by Morgan Clausen’s towering triple to left which scored Mitchell. In the bottom of the second, Haleigh Rodela’s RBI single and another by Sara Mitchell would put the Cats up 4-0. In the 3rd inning, Brittany Phillips would lead off with a triple, and then scored on a single by Katie Russell. Shea Mauser would help her cause with an RBI single of her own. Pomona would score a run in the 4th and the 5th, to make it 8-2, but the Cats would seal the deal with a 3 run 6th inning. Morgan Clausen would lead off with a huge triple to left, and Brittany Phillips would follow up with her second pine tree hitting homerun in two games! Morgan Winters would come to the plate as a pinch hitter, and blasted a perfectly placed ball down the left field line for her second, in the park homerun of the season and gave the Cats the 11-2 lead! Shea Mauser shut Pomona down in the top of the 7th, striking out 3 of the 4 batters she faced! Mauser would pick up her 12th win of the season, scattering 7 hits and striking out 6 hitters.

The Wildcats finish their seniors milli t sunsetregular season schedule on Friday at Dakota Ridge HS at 4:00pm! JV will also play their final game of the season against Dakota Ridge at 4:00pm at Robert A Easton Regional Park!




**Also-CONGRATS to our 3rd Level team as they capped off their season tonight with a 12-9 victory over Pomona as well! The Cats finished the season 10-9 and grew so much as a team over the past 7 weeks! We are so proud of you girls!! <3
