After poor field conditions at Chatfield forced a site change to A-West, the Wildcats took advantage of playing on their home field as they cruised to a 12-0, run rule shortened game against the Chargers. The Wildcats improve to 12-3 on the year, 3-0 in Jeffco play!

The ‘visiting’ Cats jumped on the board in the top of the first, with a 2 run single by Shea Mauser. In the 2nd inning, Mo Winters led off with a beautifully placed triple to the gap, and scored on a Shelby Robb single. The Cats scored 5 runs in the 3rd inning with three singles in a row by Mauser, Savannah Clausen and Gianna Haley and then Shelby Robb would blast her (state leading) 9th triple of the season. Robb would come home to score on a big sacrifice-fly by older sister, Kailey Robb, and the Wildcats would take the 9-0 lead after 3 innings. Arvada West added 3 more runs in the 4th inning. Morgan Clausen would hit a lead-off triple, and Mauser would follow with an ‘in the park’ homerun. Savannah Clausen would follow with a triple of her own, and would score when the catcher’s throw to pick her off would sail into left. The Cats took their 12-0 lead into the bottom of the 5th and got the three outs needed to secure the win!

Mauser led the charge offensively, going 3-for-3 with a pair of singles, the homerun and 4-RBI. Savannah Clausen was 2-for-2 with a single, triple and 2 runs scored for the Cats. Shelby Robb was 2-for-4 with a single, triple, 3-RBIs, 2 runs scored and a stolen base.

Mauser also collected her 8th win of the season in the circle for Arvada West. The senior threw her 3rd no hit shut out, and struck out an impressive 10 of the 17 Chatfield hitters she faced today.
